This week we needed to choose a specimen from The Natural History Museum.
I chose to draw a dinosaur, and here were some stages of development. First I did two thumbnail preparatory sketches to be familiar with the composition of the bones. And then I started from the lines, the basic shapes of the bones, then the shadows.
Below was the first outcome, I think the challenging part was dealing with the lighting, because the picture I found had many light sources and thus create multiple shadows. In this task I tried to make it simple so I set the light was coming from the top of the specimen.

And here was the second outcome after I got the feedback. Since I didn't pay attention spatial definition, I darken the back of the legs to make the contrast more obvious.
