Practical Task - Use Of Line

The practical task in this week is to use different thickness and weighted line to enhance the shape of the objects.
Since I didn't have flowers around me, I chose a still photo as my reference.

At first I tried a thumbnail size in order to place the basic shape of the objects,
which was also a warm up practice before I really started the task.
After having a rough understanding of the form and location of all the objects, I started the task. During the progress, I found that the petals and the leaves took me the most time, and I needed to check the proportion often to avoid the shape being wrong.

Below was the first outcome which I found that I had a misunderstanding of the brief, I used tones only and I didn't really make a good use of line weight and also used some interesting curves or pattern to highlight the textures.

Below was the second outcome, I used curves and some little circles to highlight the organic textures on the sunflowers and the apples, and I tried to draw the impact of refractions in the water to make it look more viivid. Eventually, I enhanced the thickness as well as added or erased some parts of the lines to show where the light came from.

And below is another practice I did as well as the resource of the reference photo..
